Knauf-Koenig Group breaks ground on 5 new custom homes
It is rare that a mid-sized luxury home construction company (20 employees) breaks ground on 5 high quality large scale homes at one time, but Knauf-Koenig Group is hitting its stride. Husband and wife team Matt and Gisela Knauf have accomplished many milestones in their 20+ career in custom home building. A record first quarter of 2016 announced 30 custom home projects underway, and these 5 individual projects breaking ground at once are key to their growth strategy.
From Aqualane Shores to Pelican Bay, these custom homes are sure to be ‘must-see’ new construction with unique design features and amenities in a region that seems to have a bit of redundancy. These 5 homes won’t utilize previous architectural plans, but rather will take beloved trademarks of the Knauf-Koenig Group’s signature looks and bring those to the next level. This will be accomplished by the esteemed architectural talents of John Cooney, principal of Stofft Cooney Architects, and Falconer Jones of Falcon Design Consultants, two talented professionals who have enjoyed a great partnership on past Knauf-Koenig Group projects.
The hallmark of Knauf-Koenig Group’s success is and has been their incredibly skilled, seasoned, and professional team and its ability to work well together. This is a team that includes an accounting department, project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and one very important differentiator, Matt Knauf involved in every project. Matt does not simply hand off a client’s business to his staff and oversee from a far. He is the glue that binds all of the projects, and superbly manages his time to be a presence both in the field and in the office astutely aware of the progress and status of every Knauf-Koenig Group project. He is a perfectionist in this regard, and it shows in every luxury home which his cohesive and organized company unveils.
Working together with the clients and the staff, Matt and Gisela Knauf pay close attention to the budget and the quality of each project. During preconstruction, Knauf-Koenig Group provides clients with an early analysis of their project’s materials, equipment, and scheduling that will be implemented during the construction phase. Matt and Gisela are active listeners who let the clients express their needs and expectations, which are then incorporated in a personalized manner to the process of completing each project on time, within budget, and with the highest level of quality.
Respected by the real estate community for providing the most compelling product on the market, Knauf-Koenig Group always delivers. Most importantly, the end user, the homeowner, often raves of their experience. “When we decided to locate to Naples, our number one issue was finding a new home built by the best company. Our decision came down to the people who own and operate the company. After we decided to work with Knauf-Koenig Group, we knew we made the right choice. Without question, the quality and workmanship, especially the wood work is world class,” describes homeowners Michael and Denice Dan.
Published in local home and lifestyle magazines and well-respected throughout the industry as a solid family-run construction company, Knauf-Koenig Group has enjoyed a steady rise over the past two decades to the top of their sector.

Stained cypress tongue-and-groove ceilings and decorative beams, shell reef tile floors in the bathrooms, and built-in interior privacy shades give the interior an added touch of luxury.
The great room flows effortlessly into the well-appointed chef’s kitchen, featuring quartzite countertops, and custom cabinetry designed by Ruffino Cabinetry. In fact, all the pool equipment can be controlled by automated iPhone-, iPad-, desktop-friendly software system. The icing on the cake is a 48-inch exterior stainless steel fireplace that completes the outdoor area and encourages at different times both entertaining and relaxation.
Add to all of this, the spray foam insulation on the roof and exterior block walls, the roll-down hurricane shutters on the lanai which alleviate the need for furniture removal during a storm, and roll-down insect screens for pure comfort, and Knauf-Koenig Group has created another top quality product on today’s market.
Knauf-Koenig Group is also extremely mindful of energy efficiency in the homes they build. Hot water heaters have come a long way over the years, and at the top of its class is the tankless, gas-fired, hot water heater with built-in recirculation lines providing the homeowner with on-demand hot water used in this Binnacle Drive home. Combined with Lenox A/C units with their variable speed, high efficiency, and high SEER rating, these best-of-class systems give this residence the capability to fully maximize energy. For a homeowner who wants the best, understand quality, and expects luxury, this home delivers the finest craftsmanship.
